Push notifications settings

The push notifications section lets you set the default enabled/disabled state for each notification category across two delivery channels: push notifications and email.

Go to Settings → Mobile App → Settings and scroll to the Push Notifications section.


Admin Config vs. Member Preferences

Admin config is a template

The settings you configure here are default values applied when a member first joins or installs the app. Members can override each category individually from their own notification preferences. Admin config does not override member-set preferences.

The UI renders this as a scrollable table with a Category column and centered Push / Email checkbox columns.


Changing Defaults

  1. Go to Settings → Mobile App → Settings.
  2. Scroll to Push Notifications.
  3. Check or uncheck the toggle for each (category, channel) pair.
  4. Save the settings — changes apply as defaults for new members going forward.

Existing members who have already set their own preferences are not affected.


Security Note

VAPID keys (used by browsers to authenticate push subscriptions) are managed in environment variables and are not configurable from the admin UI. Do not attempt to set or share VAPID key values in community settings or support channels.
