Functionality: Organize related Spaces into collections for better navigation and management. For instance, you could group Spaces by year, department, or topic.
Usage: Click the Add Collection button, name the collection, and then add relevant Spaces under this collection.
1.1. Space Name and Slug:
Space Name: Start by entering a unique name for your Space. This name will be displayed to all members and should reflect the purpose or theme of the Space.
Slug: The slug is a unique identifier for the Space’s URL (e.g., s/space-name
). It’s auto-generated based on the Space Name but can be customized if needed.
1.2. Choose Your Space Type: Select the type of Space that best suits your needs from the available options:
Social Space:
Modules Enabled: News, Posts, Events, Quiz, Poll
Best For: General community interaction, sharing updates, and organizing small-scale events.
Recommended Use: Ideal for creating spaces where members can engage in discussions, share posts, and stay informed about community activities.
Jobs:
Purpose: Job listings for community members.
Best For: Spaces dedicated to career opportunities, internships, or community job boards.
Directory:
Purpose: A list of users in the community, allowing members to connect or get in touch.
Best For: Creating a comprehensive directory of members, particularly useful for professional networks or alumni groups.
Epic Event:
Modules Enabled: News, Updates, Custom Web Page
Best For: Large-scale events with specialized content and a dedicated webpage.
Recommended Use: Ideal for hosting conferences, workshops, or significant community events.
Courses:
Purpose: Spaces designed specifically for courses.
Best For: Educational spaces where members can access course materials, participate in discussions, and track their learning progress.
Action: Once you’ve selected the Space type that fits your community’s needs, click on the Next button to proceed.
In this step, you’ll configure the specific settings for your Space, including privacy options, content management, and more. Depending on the Space type you selected, certain settings may be pre-configured, but you’ll have the flexibility to adjust them as needed.
Customize the onboarding process for new members joining this Space. You can set up welcome messages, introductory content, and any initial steps that new members should take.
Invite moderators to manage and oversee the Space. Moderators play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the content and interactions within the Space.
For Spaces that include paid memberships , you’ll set up payment options in this step. Define pricing, membership tiers, and any financial restrictions.
Once all configurations are complete, review your settings. When you’re satisfied with your setup, click Create Space to finalize the process. Your new Space will now be live and accessible to community members.
