What are Categories?

Categories organize content within spaces:

  • Group related posts together
  • Help members find content
  • Create browsable archives
  • Improve navigation

Managing Categories

Creating Categories

  1. Go to Space > Settings > Categories
  2. Click + Add Category
  3. Enter:
    • Name - Category title
    • Slug - URL-friendly name
    • Description - What belongs here
    • Color - Visual identifier (optional)
  4. Click Save

Category Best Practices

Do:

  • Keep categories broad
  • Use 5-10 categories per space
  • Make names clear and concise
  • Review and consolidate regularly

  • Use vague names
  • Let categories become unused
  • Overlap category purposes

Assigning Categories

When Creating Content

  1. Create new post
  2. In settings panel, find Category
  3. Select appropriate category
  4. Continue with post

Bulk Categorization

  1. Go to space content list
  2. Select multiple posts
  3. Click Bulk Actions
  4. Choose Change Category
  5. Select new category
  6. Apply

Tags

Adding Tags

  1. Create or edit content
  2. Find Tags field
  3. Type tag and press Enter
  4. Add multiple tags as needed

Tag Best Practices

  • Use consistent naming (lowercase, no spaces)
  • Be specific
  • Reuse existing tags when possible
  • Limit to 5-10 tags per post
