- Configure which profile fields members see on their profiles
- Set up preset options for Industry, Location, and Skills
- Enable social links and messaging app connections
- Control community-wide privacy and connection settings
Profile Fields
Three configurable fields are available:
| Field | Purpose | Presets |
|---|---|---|
| Industry | Professional categorization | Pre-filled industry list |
| Location | Geographic information | Cities, countries, remote options |
| Skills | Professional capabilities | Tech and soft skill presets |
Configuring Field Options
- Go to Settings > Profile Fields
- Select a field to configure
- Choose from the available options:
- Use preset options — Quick-fill from built-in lists
- Add custom options — Create options specific to your community
- Allow member-added values — Let members add their own options
- Share custom values — Make member-added options available to others
- Save changes
Tip: Enable "Share custom values" to gradually build a community-specific list based on what your members actually use.
Social Links
Allow members to add social media profiles and website links. Admins choose which platforms are available.
Available Social Platforms
| Platform | Input Type | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Profile URL | https://linkedin.com/in/username | |
| Twitter / X | Profile URL | https://x.com/username |
| GitHub | Profile URL | https://github.com/username |
| Website | URL | https://mysite.com |
| YouTube | Channel URL | https://youtube.com/@channel |
| Profile URL | https://instagram.com/username | |
| Profile URL | https://facebook.com/username | |
| TikTok | Profile URL | https://tiktok.com/@username |
Enabling Social Links
- Go to Settings > Profile Fields > Social Links
- Toggle on the platforms you want to offer
- Save — enabled platforms appear on member profile edit pages
Members enter their profile URLs and they are displayed as clickable links on their public profile.
Messaging App Connections
Members can link their messaging platform accounts for direct communication via workflow automations. These IDs are used by Messaging Integrations to deliver automated messages.
Available Messaging Platforms
| Platform | What Members Enter | How to Get It |
|---|---|---|
| Telegram | Chat ID (numeric) | Message @RawDataBot on Telegram |
| Discord | User ID (numeric) | Enable Developer Mode → right-click username → Copy User ID |
| Slack | Member ID | Click profile → ··· → Copy member ID |
| Phone number | E.164 format (e.g., +84912345678) |
Enabling Messaging Platforms
- Go to Settings > Profile Fields > Social Links
- Toggle on the messaging platforms you need
- Save — members can now add their IDs in their profile
How Messaging IDs Are Used
When a workflow runs a messaging action (e.g., "Send Telegram message"), it looks up the member's platform ID from their social links. If the ID is not set, the Can Send Message condition returns false, allowing you to create fallback paths (e.g., send email instead).
See Messaging Integrations — Message Conditions for workflow setup details.
Privacy Controls
Community-wide settings that affect all members:
| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Public Profiles | Make profiles visible to non-members | Off |
| Allow Connections | Enable member-to-member connection requests | On |
| Show Contact Info | Allow members to see each other's contact details | On |
To configure:
- Go to Settings > Profile Fields
- Toggle each privacy option
- Changes apply to all members immediately
Best Practices
- Start with preset options, then add custom ones as your community grows
- Enable "Share custom values" to build community-specific lists organically
- Enable only the social platforms relevant to your community to keep profiles clean
- For messaging automations, enable the platforms you plan to use in workflows and guide members to add their IDs during onboarding
- Review privacy settings before launching to ensure appropriate visibility for your audience
